The pilot project ahead of this cooperation was the one with the Dutch Aikikai Foundation in 2012 which proved to be a effective cooperation between two professional Aikido-minded organisations and a working framework for the future. Like the latest printed magazine, issue Winter 2012, from this point further all magazines will first be issued in the Dutch language.

As part of this cooperation in 2013 all Aikido Nederland members will receive 2 Aikido Insight magazines as part of their federation membership:

• 1 e-magazine (expected in June/July 2013), and
• 1 printed magazine (expected in November/December 2013).

The issue of the e-magazine is a logical next step in the development of the Aikido Insight magazine where more and more people frequently use tablets, smarthpones and/or personal computers to read texts/books. It is obsolete to mention, but the same quality standards which are currently used for the printed magazine will also apply to the e-magazine.

Thanks to the Aikido Kenshukai Nederland federation we were granted the opportunity to photograph Peter Goldsbury during his seminar in Hendrik Ido Ambacht (The Netherlands).

A selection of photographs will soon be available on the Aikido Insight website and naturally be published in the next coming Aikido Insight magazine!

A unique selection of photographs of Suganuma shihan have been published in the latest issue of the printed Aikido Insight magazine, i.e. Winter 2012 (published in February 2013).

The international exhibition Samurai, with pieces from private collections and museums in Japan and Europe, will last until May 26, 2013 and more information about this exhibition can be found at www.wereldmuseum.nl (photographer: Jan van Lierop).

As part of the cooperation with the Dutch Aikikai Foundation for 2012 all members of this federation receive a copy of the magazine as part of their membership; please contact your Aikido teacher or dojo-cho for a copy of the magazine.

For those interested outside the Dutch Aikikai Foundation and/or abroad, the magazine can be ordered via the Aikido Insight website. The big difference with the previous 3 magazines is that this magazine is written in the Dutch language! In 2012 we have evaluated our business objectives and concluded that we would gain more readers in the Netherlands by changing the language from English to Dutch for the printed magazine only; this idea has been supported and embraced by the Dutch Aikikai Foundation. The Aikido Insight magazine blog will remain in English and in 2013 we have ideas to work on an e-Magazine in English for readers outside the Netherlands. We will keep you informed about this developments.

In 2013 our team of professionals will continue providing new Aikido Insights, photographs, Aikido related art, and several interested topics from Aikido masters worldwide through the magazine and website.

Together with the support and eagerness of our readers and the close cooperation with the Dutch Aikikai Foundation in 2012 we were able to continue publishing the magazine. In “harmonious” consultation both parties are examining and discussing the details, such as the frequency and form, in which the Aikido Insight magazine in 2013 will be published. The aim is that by mutual agreement all Aikido Nederland members in 2013 will receive the Aikido Insight magazine as part of the federation membership.

In the next coming period we will inform all Aikido Insight readers on the progress and outcome of these consultations.
